Childhood option: Occupational Therapy Consulting was founded in 1996. Patrick Major saw an important need for occupational therapy to be deployed in the child’s natural environment. He therefore decided to set up a clinic offering services in the Laval, North Shore and Laurentian regions. Given the great need, the team has grown over the years, and we now serve the South Shore, the Laurentians, the Island of Montreal and the southeastern Outaouais region. Our team of experienced children’s occupational therapists takes a community-based approach, moving into the child’s environment at home, daycare or school. No therapy is carried out in a clinical setting, but always in the child’s natural environment. Over the years, the team has developed considerable expertise in the school environment. Pioneers of occupational therapy services in schools and daycare centers, the members of Childhood Option also offer their expertise for screening, intervention and training projects in these environments.
